NAKS Kant Office Hour

The Kant Office Hour aims to facilitate interactions between our early-career members and leading professors in Kant studies. To this end, the latter will be made available (individually or together) to early-career members via Zoom. The online sign-up sheet is linked below. This event will be co-hosted by the 2026 Pacific Division Meeting of the APA.

Stage 1: Senior Scholar Selection

Please complete this survey (NAKS Office Hour - Request a Professor) to indicate which senior Kant scholars you would like to have included in the office hours. Please complete this by December 1st.

Stage 2: Sign-Up

Available starting Dec. 10 in this form: NAKS Office Hour - Student Signup Form

In the online sign-up sheet, attendees select the categories that best describes what they're seeking:

    • Input on dissertation topic choice
    • Guidance on a problem occurring in own research
    • Clarification on an issue within professor’s research
    • Other (please describe)

and be invited to write a short paragraph in which they describe in more detail what they would like to discuss with the professor. This is open to all early-career Kant scholars, including graduate students, post-docs, and people in temporary academic positions. Sessions will be capped at six students (a selection will be made when necessary).

Office hours will last up to 90 minutes and participants must be current members of NAKS. Application and participation are free. Participation in connected APA events will require conference registration.

This initiative is organized by Colin Marshall (University of Washington, Seattle) and Joe Stratmann (University of Tennessee, Knoxville).
